Clock time and durations
We calculate ordinary clock differences to the minute. An overnight shift requires the next-day setting, and unpaid breaks are subtracted after calculating the shift span. The duration calculator treats entered dates and times as wall-clock values; it does not convert time zones or daylight-saving transitions.
An hour contains 60 minutes. Decimal hours divide the minute portion by 60. Decimal-to-duration conversion rounds to the nearest second. No employer-specific time rounding is applied.
Calendar and business days
Dates are represented as calendar-day numbers, so results do not drift with your device’s time zone. The start date is included and the end date is excluded unless you choose to include it. Supported years are 1900 through 2200.
Business days exclude your selected weekend days and the holiday dates you enter. Repeated holidays count only once. A holiday already on a weekend is not deducted a second time. No national holiday feed is assumed.
Pay estimates and rounding
Gross pay uses the rate, hours, overtime threshold and multiplier you enter. The threshold applies to the whole entered period. Taxes, pension contributions, deductions, paid leave and local employment-law rules are excluded. Currency choices label prices without converting them.
Calculations retain their working precision; display values are rounded for readability. Monetary results are estimates displayed with the selected locale’s currency formatting. Check your employer’s payroll precision and rounding rules before relying on an estimate.
